StormHarvester Collaborates with Watercare to Deliver Intelligent Wastewater Network Monitoring in Auckland
NewsBelfast, Northern Ireland 17 Aug – We are proud to announce our partnership with Watercare, New Zealand’s largest water and wastewater services provider, to deploy advanced monitoring and predictive analytics across Auckland’s wastewater system.
StormHarvester will integrate network mapping and context into the telemetry stream enabling Watercare to understand sewer level data in relation to network layout, catchment boundaries, and hydraulic zones.
As the sensor partner, Watercare have appointed Kallipr,. Kallipr will provide 5000 sensors throughout Watercare’s extensive network, enhancing system visibility, responsiveness, and environmental performance.
Watercare’s wastewater infrastructure includes:
- Over 8,000 km of wastewater pipelines
- 520+ pumping stations and 18 treatment plants, all monitored through SCADA
- 421 Type 1 Engineered Overflow Points and 385 Type 2 Overflow Points, many already equipped with telemetry
StormHarvester’s technology will provide Watercare with powerful, real-time analytics capabilities, enabling the utility to:
- Continuously monitor network levels and respond to alarm conditions
- Predict and locate blockages before they become disruptive
- Identify infiltration patterns from rivers, tides and rainfall
- Distinguish between dry weather and wet weather overflows
- Correlate rainfall events with network performance to support proactive decision-making
